Mark Argo will give a program on Confederacy Money.

The program will include a description of the monetary system used in the United States up to the Civil War, how the confederacy established a currency, and how money changed hands.  Among other things, many people will be interested to learn that most banks issued their own currency prior to the Civil War, and the Confederacy issued no coinage.
